Rainbow hills -- Danxia Landform

Danxia Landform Park is in ZhangYe city, GanSu Province. The geographical position is located at the foot of Qilian Mountain. It covers over 520 square kilometers. DanXia landform is a very rare geological landscape all over the world.

Danxia Landform is mainly distributed in China, west of America, central of the Europe and Australia, etc. China is most widely distributed. Danxia, in English means red. Due to the rock in these area is red. So, the scientist named it Danxia.


The Danxia landform in this region can be classified into three types of landscape : Window and palace pattern , Pillar pattern and Laneway pattern. Viewed from aspects of representativeness, aesthetics, scientific research and admiration , their values on research, teaching and touring have been evaluated. The Danxia landforms in Zhangye City not only have grace as southern landscape , but also have majesty as northern landscape ; the color hills are florid and grand. These two peculiar landscapes bring out the best in each other and become the unique geologic relic in China, which possess high admiring and scientific research value . This place is a best place for tourism, drawing, education and research. 


The price of the  ticket is very cheap. For adult is just 35 to 40RMB or 3.5 to 4 pounds. For kid, kids under 1.2m are free. In addition, it is also very easy to get to the Danxia landform from ZhangYe city.  There is a special bus can take you to the scenery spot directly. So, you do not need too much about the route. The bus driver will help you do everything. According to the hotel, a double bed room will cost you less than 300 RMB or 30 pounds as normal.


Tips: If you want to go there. You'd better go there at 10:00 in the morning or 21:00-22:00 at night. Due to the color of the rock will be more obvious under the sunshine, so in this two slots, you can see better scenery than usual. The follow images will prove this point.
