Rainbow hills -- Danxia Landform

Danxia Landform Park is in ZhangYe city, GanSu Province. The geographical position is located at the foot of Qilian Mountain. It covers over 520 square kilometers. DanXia landform is a very rare geological landscape all over the world.

Danxia Landform is mainly distributed in China, west of America, central of the Europe and Australia, etc. China is most widely distributed. Danxia, in English means red. Due to the rock in these area is red. So, the scientist named it Danxia.

The Danxia landform in this region can be classified into three types of landscape : Window and palace pattern , Pillar pattern and Laneway pattern. Viewed from aspects of representativeness, aesthetics, scientific research and admiration , their values on research, teaching and touring have been evaluated. The Danxia landforms in Zhangye City not only have grace as southern landscape , but also have majesty as northern landscape ; the color hills are florid and grand. These two peculiar landscapes bring out the best in each other and become the unique geologic relic in China, which possess high admiring and scientific research value . This place is a best place for tourism, drawing, education and research. 

The price of the  ticket is very cheap. For adult is just 35 to 40RMB or 3.5 to 4 pounds. For kid, kids under 1.2m are free. In addition, it is also very easy to get to the Danxia landform from ZhangYe city.  There is a special bus can take you to the scenery spot directly. So, you do not need too much about the route. The bus driver will help you do everything. According to the hotel, a double bed room will cost you less than 300 RMB or 30 pounds as normal.

Tips: If you want to go there. You'd better go there at 10:00 in the morning or 21:00-22:00 at night. Due to the color of the rock will be more obvious under the sunshine, so in this two slots, you can see better scenery than usual. The follow images will prove this point. July glacier

July glacier is located at GanSu Province, JiaYuGuan City. It is found by a Russia glaciologist and a Chinese professor in July.1st 1985. That is why it called July glacier. The ice is 78 meters thick on average. The thickest place is 120 meters. The highest place of the glacier is 5150 meters.

The tourism area of July glacier is 4 square kilometers. Every summer or autumn, the glacier will be very dazzling under the sunshine. You can see the rippling stream, the pasture which flowers is blooming.  All these things constitute a wonderland. Due to July glacier's altitude is quite high, visitors sometimes meets snow, rain, sun and cloudy in one day. You can experience 4 seasons in one day. It can be an unforgettable experience.

 In addition, the specialty goods there are also very attractive. In winter time, you can see a kind of fruit which is cold like ice, black and glossy. It called black pear. This pear is a traditional fruit in local area. It  is not only easy to store, but also full of nutrition.





Notice:  Due the climate in July glacier is variable. Even in summer, you should carry rain gear and cold-proof fear with you to deal with any situation.

DunHuang MingSha Mountain

MingSha Mountain is located in DunHuang district, GanSu province. From the geography position, it is located between Badain Jaran Desert and the Taklamakan desert. MingSha, in English means roar of the sand. According to legend, in Han dynasty, a general led his army to western xpedition. However, they were raided by the enemies. When these two armies were fighting, a strong came. At that time, they heard the roar of the sand. Finally all the people were buried in to sand. That is why people called it MingSha Mountain.

MingSha Mountain is 40KM long, 20KM wide. The highest place is 250 meters high. All the mountain is consist of sand. The colour of the sand is full of feature. You can find red, yellow, blue, white and black sand here.

The shape of the back of the mountain like a sharp blade. At the foot of the mountain, there is a river named Crescent River. Near the crescent river, there is an ancient house. People can see the sun set there. Of course, if the feel tired in visiting, you can have a rest in this ancient house. Here we strongly recommend the sweet-sour plum juice. It is really quench and fill your energy at once.


Notice: Remember to hire shoe covers before you enter MingSha Mountain because at day time, the temperature of the sand is really high. In order to avoid you shoes unglued, a shoe covers is really needed indeed. In addition, if you want to go there, please take sunscreen, sunshade and sunglass with you. If you feel tired, you can hire a camel there. They will help you in your journey.
